 Mary Craik something beautiful opens Friday, May 20 Mary Craik's fiber art comes from Louisville Kentucky. Mary lived and worked in an urban studio on East Market Street until 2019 when she passed at the age of 95. I just wanted to make something beautiful. I didn’t have any deep meaning. It was that I just wanted people to enjoy seeing it. That was kind of it. I discovered I could do something that other people could enjoy just by looking at it. So it wasn’t any big anything. My expression was, ‘It is my hope that when people look at this, they will feel the joy that I felt while I was making them.’ That’s sort of my deeper soul involvement, whatever you want to call it, is.
